Rising on Wikipedia in October 2026: daily readers of the article on the November moustache fundraiser roughly tripled between late September and mid-October, as the month when people grow a moustache for charity comes round again.
Plan your November moustache fundraiser
Tell the page your cause, your goal and the people you can ask. It measures your month on a tape, shows when your style should take shape and checks the goal. One run writes the campaign: a page story, an ask for each circle, five updates and a thank-you.

Growth figures are rough estimates (a typical range is about a quarter to half a millimetre a day). Yours may differ - treat the days as a guide, not a promise.
4 Write the campaign
One run writes a campaign angle, a story for your fundraising page, one ask for each circle, five updates timed to the growth stages with a photo idea each, a note on your style and your goal, and a thank-you for the end of the month.
The verdict follows a fixed rule, checked in order: rethink the goal if no circles are listed or more than half the people would need to give; a stretch if more than a quarter would; on track otherwise.
5 Your plans
How the page works it out
Sponsors needed is the goal divided by the typical gift, rounded up. The share who would need to give is that number out of everyone across your circles, rounded up. Each circle's tooth on the comb is filled to that same share - a rough way to see who to ask, not a forecast of who will give. The tape uses a rough growth speed for each choice (slowly about 0.25 mm a day, steadily or in patches about 0.35, fast about 0.45) and a rough length each style needs (pencil 3 mm, chevron 8, horseshoe 10, walrus 12, handlebar 15). A style counts as ready in time when it should take shape by day 24, leaving a week of photos. These are estimates; nobody's moustache reads the tape.
